michaelkors. coachoutlet. from the Register鈥檚 Brad Johnson. michaelkors. burberryoutlet. pro32. org and www. twitter. burberryoutlet. The annual Surf City Splash happens Thursday, a creative and chilly way hundreds of people kick off New Year鈥檚 Day at the Huntington Beach Pier. It takes some guts to rush into the chilly water, so if you鈥檝e never taken the plunge, here are five things you should know:1. Can I wear a wetsuit? Only if you want to look like a total wimp. The purpose of the event is to get a good jolt from the chilly water into the New Year, and no wetsuits are allowed. And even though you鈥檒l surely get a few goosebumps, it鈥檚 nowhere near as cold as similar dunks held around the world. The Coney Island Polar Bear Club in New York is one of the oldest dunks, where about 700 swimmers jump into 40-degree water. The group was founded in 1903, with early plungers believing the cold ocean water would boost a person鈥檚 stamina, virility and immunity, a theory that some people still believe. In Boulder, Colo. , plungers go into water where it鈥檚 so cold that 10-inch-thick ice can form. Here, the water temps are a bit more tolerable, in the low 60s. What can I wear? A simple bathing suit or trunks will do, but many people get wacky and creative with costumes. A guy in a full-blown pirate suit shows up each year, there will be a few Santas, and of course, plenty of people wearing New Year鈥檚 hats. If you have a clown costume, or a left-over Halloween outfit you don鈥檛 mind demolishing in the waves, wear it 鈥? there鈥檚 a costume contest at 10:30 a. Categories include: Best New Year Theme, Most Sparkly, Funniest, Best Surfing Theme and Group Prize three or more in group. How did the event start? The event started when Huntington Beach resident Michael Parks and a few friends 15 years ago decided to do something crazy for New Year's Day. These days it has grown to nearly 1,000 people who show up on the sand 鈥? depending on the weather and waves, of course. On the rainy or foggy years, or when a big swell brings threatening waves, less people show. What is this year supposed to be like? This year鈥檚 conditions look promising for the event, with early forecasts showing sunny skies and a mild 58-degree air temperature. The surf is also expected to be mellow, with only 1- to 2-foot waves expected on New Year鈥檚 Day. Lifeguards will be on hand and will coordinate with organizers to determine which side of the pier the Surf City Splash should take place, depending on surf conditions and crowds. Does it cost anything? It鈥檚 a public beach, so no one can stop you from jumping in the water without registering. But if you do want to start your year helping out with various causes, sign up at 9 a. The funds benefit the International Surfing Museum and local schools鈥? surf clubs. Look for the setup near Zack鈥檚 on the north side of the pier. The actual plunge takes place at noon, with a countdown to when revelers race into the water. oakley. michaelkors. michaelkors. The first series of the game was an indication of things to come for the Bears, as they punted the ball away, giving Booneville the field position necessary to quickly put 6 points on the scoreboard. The score came with 6:38 left to play in the first quarter. The next series for the Bears proved just as devastating as Barton fumbled the ball on the kickoff return leaving the Bearcats with excellent field position that eventually turned into another touchdown in just 2:30 of game time, widening the gap to 14-0 with 4 minutes left in the first quarter following a successful 2-point conversion. The Bears third possession was not fruitful either. Following a turnover on downs, Booneville was poised for another touchdown with 9:38 left in the first half as the Bearcat offense walked the ball in from a yard out. Following a failed extra point attempt, the score was 20-0. The Bear's fourth possession ended with an unsuccessful fake punt, leaving the Bearcats with their fourth consecutive scoring possession as Booneville drove the ball in from 5 yards out with 5:31 still remaining in the first half. The home team was able to add a successful 2-point conversion leaving the Bears in the dust with a score of 28-0. The next round of plays for the Bears did not fare well. What would have been Barton's first, 1st down of the night resulted in another turnover, giving Booneville yet another scoring opportunity with excellent field position. Following a 36-yard rush, the Bearcats took full advantage of the turnover and lit up the scoreboard again, increasing their lead over the Bears to 34-0. While the Bears failed to score in the first half, at the buzzer the Bearcats were able to nail a successful field goal giving the home team a 38-0 lead at the break. The second half was not much better for the Bears. Booneville had the first possession of the second half. That series resulted in another Booneville touchdown with 8:44 left in the third quarter widening the gap to 45-0 after the successful extra point. For the first time in the contest, the Bears slipped into enemy territory and with 7:57 left in the that quarter, Bryce Carter took the ball 11 yards to the end zone. The Bears were trailing the Bear Cats 45-7 final following a successful extra point kick by Roland Brothers. But it will take time for families to figure out the best bang for their budgets even as a bigger political battle brews over the program's future. For many people, government subsidies will cushion the hit. And there's a new factor: Returning customers who are savvy about health insurance and prepared to shop for a better deal. Scott Joens of St. George, Utah, said he and his wife are facing premium increases of about 18 percent for 2015. But instead of agonizing, he's looking for a plan with a higher deductible, which is the amount of medical expenses that consumers are responsible for each year before insurance kicks in. By switching, he could lower his monthly premiums. Joens, in his 50s and semi-retired from the pharmacy business, said he'll worry if the trend keeps going. It's not a major hardship, he said. But I still have some years until I am on Medicare. My worry is by the time I'm 65, who knows where this will be? Overall, he said he's been very satisfied with his gold plan this year. Experts say numbers alone don't tell the story. How all this shakes out will depend on one big wild card, said Larry Levitt of the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation. Will current enrollees become savvy shoppers or just sit back and stay in their current plans? This is a new program with no precedent, so there's no way to predict exactly what will happen. In a departure from the process that officials followed last year, the administration has not released its own analysis of 2015 premiums. Instead, it published raw data, leaving it to independent experts to parse the numbers. What they are finding points to an overall trend of rising premiums, although not everywhere. The analysts have focused on silver plans, the coverage level picked by about two-thirds of the customers on HealthCare. gov and state-run health insurance markets. There are four levels platinum, gold, silver and bronze. Silver is a notch below what most people with employer coverage have. A study from the market analysis firm Avalere Health found that premiums for the lowest-cost silver plan will go up by 10 percent on average in communities across the country. A Kaiser Foundation study took a different approach, focusing on premiums for the second-lowest-cost silver plan in every county. That type of plan is a benchmark that the government uses as a basis for setting consumer premium subsidies for the entire program. Kaiser found that premiums for the second-lowest-cost silver plan are going up in 59 percent of counties nationwide, down in 34 percent, and remaining flat in 7 percent. Eighteen percent of counties will see an increase of more than 10 percent. At the other end of the spectrum, 13 percent of counties will see a decrease of more than 10 percent. Page 2 of 2 - If you are currently in the second-lowest-cost silver plan in your community, there's no guarantee that will be the case for 2015. Another insurer may have bid lower and captured the designation. People who don't shop around could face significant price increases. The rise isn't too far out of line with what's happening to employer-sponsored plans, which cover about 150 million people and make up the biggest chunk of the health-insurance market. Costs in those plans, which usually are more restrained than prices in the individual market, are expected to rise about 4. 6 percent on average next year, according to a recent survey from benefits consultant Mercer. Still, Levitt said many consumers will have the opportunity to find a lower-cost plan. In some places, premiums are actually going down, which is almost unheard of in health insurance, he said. That's what Robert Glenn of Charleston, South Carolina, found when he started looking around. Nonetheless, Glenn re-evaluated his options, figuring he would save more next year by picking a middle-of-the-road silver plan instead. I see the forces of capitalism and competition working this year, said Glenn, a psychiatrist in his early 30s who's an independent contractor. I know I am just but one of millions of people affected... but 'Obamacare' is working for me. Kaiser's analysis found wide differences from state to state, and even within states. Some of the steepest premium increases for benchmark plans are for counties in Alaska and Minnesota. Most counties in Georgia will see decreases. Premiums are trending up in Florida and Texas, prime targets of the administration's enrollment drive for 2015. Stephanie Baechle, a nanny from Columbia, Mo. , says she's not happy. Although she's in her 20s a desirable demographic for insurers market forces seem to be pushing more costs at her. Her current plan is being canceled. On top of that, her doctor is not in the new plan. As a supporter of the Affordable Care Act, I am extremely disappointed in what is happening, said Baechle, who said she's considering not signing up for insurance and instead paying the fine levied against those who go uncovered. oakley. The second, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, also did well, though its profits didn t come near the heights of its predecessor. And so here we go again, with the same cast playing the same roles, but as in the second film, acting it out in a different location. This time Larry Ben Stiller the night guard at New York s Museum of Natural History, journeys to London s British Museum where, along with his teenage son and various living statues and a monkey Crystal from the New York institution, he meets a new set of living statues in the big British building. All three films feature visual effects that would probably make the late, great effects visionary Ray Harryhausen nod in approval. And these movies are not without a degree of charm, as in the sequences where a huge dinosaur skeleton a T-rex in the first film, a triceratops in this one goes scampering about like a puppy. But the second and third entries seem to take their audiences for granted, assuming that there s no way anyone would come to see these films without first watching the first one. That first film feebly explained something about a cursed Egyptian tablet that, after sunset every day, made every inanimate object in the museum come to life until sunrise, when they would again revert to their display selves. Inserted in and around that story was one of the divorced Larry and his shaky relationship with his young son, and wow, it s kind of hard to remember the details of bad movies something about an attempted robbery of that magic tablet. When the second entry came around, with a switch of venue to Washington, D. , the filmmakers lazily didn t even bother to mention why statues were coming alive. They just plopped Ben Stiller back in with those talking objects and kind of retold the first story, with a few changes here and there. This time, there s at least a feeble attempt at the start, in a flashback to a long ago archaeological dig in Egypt, to show where the tablet came from. But then the film just jumps back into the continuing saga of Larry and his statues and his monkey, and his now teenage son who, to the dismay of dad, is thinking of not going to college. The only really new elements here are the British accent of British Museum night guard Tilly Rebel Wilson and the plot twist of every museum exhibit that comes to life at night being in peril because of a glitch with the tablet any Egyptian magical tablet expert would immediately know that the problem is a lack of moonlight... or something like that. So it s Larry to the rescue, and Larry s companions bumbling about, and the statues at the British Museum who have come alive for the first time yes, Larry has brought the tablet with him wondering what the heck is going on. Page 2 of 2 - Also new to the series is the idea that if that tablet is present, even a lava flow from a Pompeii exhibit can come alive. This totally absurd and pointless segment does put the film s two diminutive living statues the laid-back cowboy Owen Wilson and the gay gladiator Steve Coogan in great danger, but ends up serving only to provide a toilet humor gag of the monkey peeing on them to protect them. Sorry, not funny. It hurt a little to see both Robin Williams and Mickey Rooney in their final screen appearances. But watch out, here comes a compliment it was great to see Downton Abbey s Dan Stevens, here playing a robust and lively and clueless Sir Lancelot, in a great comic performance. As far as Ben Stiller goes, he does his job well, making all of this seem as if it s really happening. But the two best parts of Secret of the Tomb are a terrific cameo during a West End production of Camelot and that fact that this series will exist as a trilogy. It s now over and done with. Bruce Ennis, D-Smyrna and Margaret Rose Henry, D-Wilmington and Rep. Larry Mitchell, D-Elsmere announced legislation Monday designed to guarantee prison time for offenders caught with guns they are prohibited having by law because of prior violent crimes. The bill will close a loophole with regard to people prohibited from possessing, purchasing, or owning a firearm because of violent crimes they committed when they were 16 or 17 years old. The bill establishes a minimum mandatory prison sentence for those adults with guns, a provision not currently in Delaware law because a juvenile's conviction for a violent crime cannot currently be taken into account once that person is an adult. With this new bill, a juvenile adjudication for a violent felony by a 16 or 17 year old followed by a conviction as an adult for illegal firearm possession would result in the same minimum mandatory time as if the violent felony had been committed as an adult. The bill will also establish minimum mandatory sentences for those repeatedly convicted of illegally carrying firearms, even if the reason they were prohibited was not for committing a violent felony. The bill is similar to House Bill 73 from the last General Assembly session, which passed the House 40-1 and was released from Senate committee, with the exception that the bill will be limited to violent offenses committed by persons 16 or 17 years old, and not include offenses from when someone is 15 or younger. In addition to Senators Ennis and Henry, and Representative Mitchell, co-sponsors of the legislation will include: Senators Patricia Blevins, Colin Bonini, Bethany Hall-Long, Ernesto Lopez, Robert Marshall, Brian Pettyjohn, Nicole Poore, and David Sokola, and Representatives Michael Barbieri, Stephanie Bolden, Quinn Johnson, Sean Lynn, Sean Matthews, Edward Osienski, Charles Potter, Jr. , Michael Ramone, Bryon Short, Daniel Short, and Kimberly Williams. burberryoutlet. michaelkors. But no clues to the identities of the pair have be gleaned since the discovery of the New Year's break-in, according to Miller County Sheriff's Investigator Wesley Penny. The Boll Weevil is located on U. Highway 67, near Fulton. The break-in involved a chopsaw that was used after the perpetrators took bolts out of tin on top of the building, cut it, and gained entry into the office of the business, Penny said. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken, Penny said. They gained entry into the safe while they were there, which, as far as we can determine, was about three hours. We think they came in about midnight and stayed in the office for awhile, he said. The store closed about 6 p. on New Year's Eve and everything was fine when employees closed up. It wasn't until the next morning when the employee who opened found the building in disarray. Penny went on to say that the thieves left a gas can that they took off the shelf and a partial bottle of two-cycle engine oil that they used for the chopsaw. William Simpson is partial owner of the store and the investigation is ongoing through the Miller County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police. f Some travel websites are fighting this type of fraud by adding steps to the login process, and they warn against using the same username and password on more than one site. louisvuittonhandbags.

michaelkors. coachoutlet. from the Register鈥檚 Brad Johnson. michaelkors. burberryoutlet. pro32. org and www. twitter. burberryoutlet. These startling figures about the decline of the American family contrast with the year 1960 when 73 percent of American children lived in traditional families. America appears to have reached the age of decadence, which Glubb defines as marked by 鈥渄efensiveness, pessimism, materialism, frivolity, an influx of foreigners, the welfare state, and a weakening of religion. 鈥滵ecadence, he writes, 鈥渋s due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, selfishness, love of money and the loss of a sense of duty. 鈥滵o these not define America at the end of 2014? Bruce Ennis, D-Smyrna and Margaret Rose Henry, D-Wilmington and Rep.
